Southern Styria has always been a wine growing region of special charm ... now it also produces great wines.
Wine has been grown and drunk for centuries. We did not invent it. Southern Styria was always known for its extraordinary wines. Wine was simply wine when great-grandfather Johann Polz laid the foundation and father Reinhold Polz began to concentrate on viticulture. One thing, however, has not changed. Then as now, the quality has to be there. During the 1980s, great bordeaux tastings showed the younger generation new levels of quality and awakened both their curiosity and their ambition. Motivated by the fascination of wine and by the hope of gaining recognition for their own wines, Erich & Walter Polz built up their winery to 51 hectares.
